In the run-up to the ascent of Mount Everest, I prepared myself down to the last detail to achieve my goal. Many people focus on physical training in such an expedition. Not unimportant, but with me the mental preparation, visualizing the route and eliminating the dangers also played an important role. Another important point that is often overlooked is the area of nutrition and supplements. I never used a lot of supplements, but I didn't want to rule anything out this time. I wanted to seize and use every opportunity to achieve my goal.
During climbing a climber consumes an enormous amount of energy and there is only a short time to recover. I came to Victus Sports and their Nutrition Water for the replenishment of my energy and accelerated recovery. In addition, climbing at high altitudes has the disadvantage of slowing down the digestion and thus reducing the absorption of vitamins and minerals. Here, too, Nutrition Water offered a solution. By dissolving it in water I could easily add the powder to my litre bottle of drinking water that I always carry with me in the mountains.
The Supreme Fruit variety is very tasty at solitary heights. In my specific case, I had to save weight and scooped the large bag of Nutrition Water powder into about thirty smaller day bags, so I had the right dosage with me during and after my climb and didn't have to take the whole bag with me. I reached the top of the world on May 23rd at 05:40, partly thanks to Nutrition Water and the boys from Victus/Sports. This always gave me the right nudge when I needed it. Success is a sum of effort, preparation and details. If you've done everything you can, it's going to work.
